Committees


The President appoints committees, and designates their chairpersons, to conduct the affairs of the Association:

The Beach & Boating Committee manages the Pines' Community Beach & Marina in accordance with the Association's rules and regulations, and applicable federal, state and county law.

Budget Committee

 





Members of the Budget Committee include the Association's Treasurer, one Regular member appointed by the Board of Governors, and three Regular members elected at the June general membership meeting.

Each year, typically at the December general membership meeting, the Association approves separate budgets for Special Community Benefit District (SCBD) funds and Specified Use funds. The SCBD budget is formulated and managed in accordance with Anne Arundel County's rules, regulations, and guidelines. Specified Use funds are funds received by the Association from fees, grants, or other sources requiring expenditure for a specific or dedicated purpose.

The Budget Committee solicits input from the Board, Committee Chairmen, and the Pines community at large prior to drafting SCBD and Specified Use budgets for the following fiscal year, i.e., June 1 thru May 31.

Nominating Committee

Members of the Nominating Committee include a chairperson appointed by the President, two members appointed by the Board of Governors, and two members nominated and elected at the October general membership meeting. Nominating Committee members must be Regular members of the Association, i.e., Pines property owners.

The Nominating Committee chooses nominees for election to annual vacancies that occur on the Board of Governors. The election of governors is by ballot, cast by Regular members of the Association in attendance at December's general meeting. Additional nominations may be made from the floor by Regular members.

Playground & Children's Activities Committee

The Playground Committee manages the Pines' playground, play equipment, tennis courts and ball field. Volunteers coordinate children's activities on a rotating basis, e.g. for Easter, the 4th of July, and Halloween.
